Oatmeal Cookies

While Brennan was napping Tristan and I made some oatmeal cookies. It's a lot easier to bake with Tris than it was to bake with Noah. Tristan just wants to watch and run a little 2yr old commentary. Noah wanted to do everything so he grabbed at things, spilled them, broke them (he's still like that). While I was dropping the batter onto the cookie sheets I would count each one. Suddenly Tristan piped up and counted to 10 on his own!! I didn't even know he was paying attention. I tried to get a video, but once the camera comes out, he's a little hambone. I uploaded it anyway because his brattiness just ends up being endearing when accompanied by those big brown eyes and crooked smile.







Brennan inevitably woke up so I let him play on the floor with some pots and tupperware, which I surprisingly had not done with him yet. We had fun! He was covered in dirt when he got up, but even if I had just mopped it would have been the same story. Crawlers ::sigh:: what can you do? As you can see Bosley was there every step of the way.







Tris has been asking to take a nap at 10:30 the past few mornings. I happily oblige. They both sleep at the same time and Tristan doesn't seem to get grumpy at the end of the day. Plus with an early nap we can put them down at 7:30 and get an extra hour of Mommy/Daddy time to play games, watch movies, talk, fight, clean, whatever we so choose. I am going to have some more hot tea :)

I'm so amazed how much Tristan looks like Noah now, but with blond hair, and then how much Brennan looks like Josh!!

I don't mind naps either as long as I can get Haley to go to bed at a resasonable hour. Normally if she sleeps for a nap, she's up till 10pm..So, I have just been bypassing the nap now. Sometimes she does ask for one. Leah's been taking her morning nap off and on this week..I'm sorry to say I think she is giving it up..sniff sniff..I love the two naps a day. AT least, she is still taking an afternoon one and then still going to bed at 8pm..both girls do. Thankgoodness. I love how you said fight haha in your second to the last sentence. You are real!!! Love it!

Allie Update

Though I have been depressed, life is trudging on. I had my 7mo baby appointment and everything is right on track. I'm 28wks and 5 days along. My belly is a whopping 29cm. I didn't get any guff about losing a little weight. My blood pressure wasn't high this time. My sugar test came back normal. I've got a little sciatica so the doc gave me some stretches to try out. She also suggested I finally cash in those 2 prenatal massage certificates I got for my birthday. Other than that, everything looks good. Noah got to press the button to find the baby's heartbeat. Enough Planning, More Doing

I've been researching, reading about, diving into, writing about, and thinking about building confidence and self-trust for about 8 years now. It's time to get more intentional and active about it. I think I'm ready to move into that phase finally. I have a tendency to take in information and keep mulling it over, writing and expounding upon this that and the other, but now it's time for an actual plan. An action plan. I understand the problem as much as I can from the outside looking in. Now it's time to create learning opportunities: to make mistakes and deal with the consequences or to achieve something and deal with the praise. That's the next phase of learning... doing . So today I am creating a specific list of tasks that I have to do in the months ahead that specifically target insecurities and seek to force me to deal with the reality of those insecurities.
