I think today is a good day for nest-building ;)

I woke up at 6:15 to empty my bladder, which seems so small lately... can't go back to sleep. All I can think about is doing laundry, touring the hospital, picking a name, labor, getting the bassinet back out... YAY! Honestly I was worried for awhile there because none of my normal racing thoughts had kicked in yet! I am trying my hardest to just relax and wait so as not to awaken the entire house, but I want to CLEAN! I'm so glad there is a nesting instinct otherwise my house would look like total crap when the baby arrives. The pains of pregnancy are not motivators for cleaning to be sure. Yeah sure Josh could clean, but he'd clean like a guy (bless his heart for helping regardless). Guess I can kill time with a blog! This huge rainbow appeared right before sunset after an entire day of thunderstorms (haircut day). It was a nice treat :)

Yesterday Noah and Josh woke up early to take his car in for some new rims (an early b-day present). They went out to breakfast and Josh took Noah to WalMart and bought him a few little cars, one of which looked an awful lot like Daddy's car that Noah found himself. The coolest one changes colors and Noah soaked a few hand towels enjoying the miracle. Tristan slept until 10am for me and then we just kinda hung out and had a leisurely breakfast. He's becoming a master with the fork and spoon. I still can't tell if he's right or left handed... he switches during meals. Maybe he'll be ambidextrous!

After that we all went down to the Augusta Canal again by the Riverwalk and Amphitheater. It was actually pretty cold thanks to the wind. At one point I thought I was going to get blown over! Noah thought it was the greatest thing ever, of course. Tristan was perfectly content to stay in the carrier and point at ducks and seagulls. He also did a whole lot of giggling as usual :)
Noah's awake now. I think that's enough to at least clean the kitchen. Awwww look at him with his little shaved head and big baggy footie PJ's :) hehehe... "Mommy, I was going pee. Can I have a cereal bar?"... OK haha.

I love the photos. I have never caught a rainbow like that, it's beautiful! Ember switches hands when she's eating & coloring too! I love when they are able to use utensils. It makes things so much easier!

I definitely nested with both pregnancies too but with Ember it kicked in later. Your due date is just around the corner!

I really love the boys haircuts. They look really nice. Your getting to that stage of nesting and cleaning. Fun fun! I really didn't have to much of that with Leah. Who knows why. I think I washed all the clothes up like a couple of weeks before she came. Not much longer till baby comes! I can't wait to see the little guy.

Still Happy!! HOORAY!!

We're still going strong with our happiness levels out here. Yesterday was a little bit rough because Tristan was especially whiney, but today was amazing :) We got our grocery shopping done and even managed to have fun doing that! Noah and I were singing Christmas songs already while Tris and Bren laughed at us. Tristan sometimes piped in with a "all the way" when we were singing Jingle Bells. Noah was cracking up when I sang him the Batman version :D After all that excitement the 2 wee ones went down for their naps and Noah and I gave Bosley a bath with his new tea extract shampoo. Almost Doesn't Count

We almost ended up with a puppy today. An adorable baby Jack Russell Terrier mix wandered into our yard. He was very sweet, laid back, flea-ridden, dirty, cute, a little broken, good temperament, un-fixed, and very very good with Noah and Emma. I asked the neighbors about him and they showed me where the owner lived. She took him inside and told me how he's driving her crazy because he chews through collars and gets out of the yard (which is because he's a puppy and not an outside breed). She mentioned possibly getting rid of him. Lo and behold he wandered back into our yard not too long after that... interesting. I wanted to adopt him because he was unwanted, but shouldn't have been. He was a very sweet dog. I would have called him Jackie I think :) This brings me to a rant. I know I've posted about the way people around here treat their pets. This is a perfect example. This lady didn't want the puppy anymore so she simply let it go. No collar, no tags...

Project 365: Jan 16 - 20

Tuesday, January 16th - more snow and a cotton candy sunset. It wasn't much, but the ice beneath and timing of the snow itself  meant a snow day for the kids! Now that they're teenagers, that precious time is spent catching up on sleep, which makes working from home pretty easy for me. Wednesday, January 17th - the morning light changes throughout the year as the earth moves around the sun. In winter, it peeks in through my living room window and spotlights the entertainment center in warm light.  Thursday, January 18th - Braved the inch of ice on the ground to attend a legislative reception in Annapolis with my coworkers/friends.
