Trick-or-Treat

Halloween was awesome. I think it's one of my favorite holidays again now that I'm a mom. We went with Karrie, Clint & CJ around our neighborhood. Karrie took the pictures for me. CJ was Ghost Rider. Noah was Maverick from Top Gun (all thanks to Grandma B). Everyone loved both their costumes. Noah got a lot of "awwwww" and "he is soooo cute!" and he certainly was :)

Our neighborhood was all done up and there was a decent crowd out. Noah wasn't afraid of all the goblins and ghouls and bloody creepy costumes. He was, however, afraid of this 11 year old boy who was walking behind us in a simple whits ghost costume. The kid would pull his mask up and say "it's ok! I'm just a kid!" but Noah freaked out for a long time about him. Finally he started reciting everything we were saying and got over it in his own Noah way, by telling ME "don't worry mommy. don't be scared. he's just a guy. no scared, ok? it's ok mommy".

We had a good time. I carried Tristan up front in the baby sling and he slept nearly the entire time... too bad I didn't have a kangaroo costume! When he did wake up I was able to position him in the sling so he could eat while we finished the walk home. Did I mention I love my baby sling?

Looks like fun!What a nice sling :)

Pretty soon you'll be able to just top Tristan off before you go places and he won't have to eat quite so often.When were home I let Ember eat whenever she wants to ,but it ends up being spaced 2-4 hours depending on her growth spurts :)

Ava loves to comfort me too.She'll say "It ok Mommy...here" and hand me whatever it is she is playing with :)

Ahhh, He looks so handsome and grown up. I love Halloween. Its such a fun holiday for them. I am glad you like your sling. I never had a sling like that while nursing Dylan. It seems to make you life a lot easier. Especially if you can nurse while walking home.

That sling is awesome! That is great it's working out for you so well. Haley was way to big to be in one of those or ours wasn't very good. It like snapped when I put her in.

Noah looks so cute! I thought maybe he was his daddy for Halloween before I read your bloy haha.

Still Happy!! HOORAY!!

We're still going strong with our happiness levels out here. Yesterday was a little bit rough because Tristan was especially whiney, but today was amazing :) We got our grocery shopping done and even managed to have fun doing that! Noah and I were singing Christmas songs already while Tris and Bren laughed at us. Tristan sometimes piped in with a "all the way" when we were singing Jingle Bells. Noah was cracking up when I sang him the Batman version :D After all that excitement the 2 wee ones went down for their naps and Noah and I gave Bosley a bath with his new tea extract shampoo. Almost Doesn't Count

We almost ended up with a puppy today. An adorable baby Jack Russell Terrier mix wandered into our yard. He was very sweet, laid back, flea-ridden, dirty, cute, a little broken, good temperament, un-fixed, and very very good with Noah and Emma. I asked the neighbors about him and they showed me where the owner lived. She took him inside and told me how he's driving her crazy because he chews through collars and gets out of the yard (which is because he's a puppy and not an outside breed). She mentioned possibly getting rid of him. Lo and behold he wandered back into our yard not too long after that... interesting. I wanted to adopt him because he was unwanted, but shouldn't have been. He was a very sweet dog. I would have called him Jackie I think :) This brings me to a rant. I know I've posted about the way people around here treat their pets. This is a perfect example. This lady didn't want the puppy anymore so she simply let it go. No collar, no tags...

Project 365: Jan 16 - 20

Tuesday, January 16th - more snow and a cotton candy sunset. It wasn't much, but the ice beneath and timing of the snow itself  meant a snow day for the kids! Now that they're teenagers, that precious time is spent catching up on sleep, which makes working from home pretty easy for me. Wednesday, January 17th - the morning light changes throughout the year as the earth moves around the sun. In winter, it peeks in through my living room window and spotlights the entertainment center in warm light.  Thursday, January 18th - Braved the inch of ice on the ground to attend a legislative reception in Annapolis with my coworkers/friends.
