Big Boy Noah

Noah hasn't wet his pull-up all week so I thought we would try without last night. No accidents! Yay!! So today we went to Wal-Mart and my big boy got a new set of big boy pajamas :) He picked them out himself. He had a hard time choosing between the Hulk, Batman, and Transformers but ultimately Transformers won because he acquired 2 Transformer toys from Heather's house and has been carrying them around for 2 days now. They take baths together, play in the sandbox together, watch TV together, go to the bathroom together... everything. Right now he's pacing the house calling out "transformers, transforrrrrmerrrs" I guess he lost them. Don't worry, he found them. We also got a new winter coat that's 2 coats in one and some warm sweatpants to wear at night.

When I got home from the doctor yesterday, sonogram picture in hand, I asked Noah if he wanted to see a picture of the new baby. He got SO EXCITED!! I wish I had a video. He said "YOU GOT A PICTURE OF THE BABY IN YOUR TUMMY?!" and he looked at it like he understood what he was seeing haha. It was precious. Every day I hear how he's going to be a big brother again (and a soccer player and a super hero). Apparently we're having a girl, a sister, like Mommy and she's going to get tall and then be a Mommy too!! This is all very exciting to Noah... so exciting that it bears repeating at least 3 times a day.

We had to get Noah some big kid body wash because he stinks like a real boy now. My pregnant nose couldn't take it anymore! He also has new taste in movies. He loves the Incredibles (which used to bore him), Agent Cody Banks (his spy movie), and Sky High (his super hero movie). Those last 2 are movies with actual actors in them, not cartoons :O He's getting so big :/

It's been raining all day, which to Noah means that he is supposed to play outside in his new winter coat. I'm fine with that as long as he doesn't get carried away and start rolling around in the mud, which he didn't. After a nice romp in the cold wet nasty backyard I coaxed him back inside with the promise of Halloween sugar cookies and hot chocolate. I love hot chocolate when it's raining and chilly. I used to love hot chocolate when it's snowing, but I haven't been around snow in forever so we made a compromise ;) Now his Transformers are drinking his hot chocolate and he's sying "any time now!". I guess they're taking too long... or maybe I am. OK well I am going to enjoy some more Mommy/Noah time before Tristan wakes up. HAHAHA he just ran into the bathroom and said "super poop!! I'm super pooping!" and he said it in this Kermity voice. He's so crazy!

Eww the whole big boy smell scares me. I have been hearing about that smell for years from friends that have boys. Guess they just cant be covered up in lotion like little girls can and get away with it! Please inform me of what else i need to know about boys.

WOW! Noah is so smart! I even told Annie the other day that I know how far behind my son is when I read what Noah does and now that he doesn't need his pullups anymore. Jr. is soooo lazy that he still doesn't want to go, I have to put a timer for every 30 minutes. About your hot chocolate I love hot chocolate too, it's not like I will ever see snow over here but I can enjoy it during the winter time. hehe... I hope you really do get to have a girl this time if not there's another time. :)

That is great Noah! How exciting for him to get to go & pick out a prize for all this :) I think it's a great idea to reward big milestones like that. It makes them feel accomplished & proud of themselves.

I still use baby wash on Ava even in her hair. Her hair is getting so long I need some kind of detangler! I think 3/4 is when they really start seeming like big kids :)

Go Noah! That is so excited when you know the potty process is nearing an end. I used to love Transformers b/c of my brother haha. I liked all those "boy" toys b/c of him. I even watched GI Joe when I ate breakfast before highschool..yeah. haha. I'm glad Noah is ajusting well to becoming a big brother again. Haley likes to talk to the baby through my bell button and pretend she's kicking all the time haha.

Wow, I just still can't believe I knew pre-noah allie. I mean I knew him as little bean in the belly and now here he is watching super-hero movies! I am so sad I didn't get to see him a few times as he got older. He is amazing.

And I'm so excited that y'all are having a GIRL!! It must be true if Noah knew it. Remember when he randomly said there was a boy in your tummy? :)

Still Happy!! HOORAY!!

We're still going strong with our happiness levels out here. Yesterday was a little bit rough because Tristan was especially whiney, but today was amazing :) We got our grocery shopping done and even managed to have fun doing that! Noah and I were singing Christmas songs already while Tris and Bren laughed at us. Tristan sometimes piped in with a "all the way" when we were singing Jingle Bells. Almost Doesn't Count

We almost ended up with a puppy today. An adorable baby Jack Russell Terrier mix wandered into our yard. He was very sweet, laid back, flea-ridden, dirty, cute, a little broken, good temperament, un-fixed, and very very good with Noah and Emma. I asked the neighbors about him and they showed me where the owner lived. She took him inside and told me how he's driving her crazy because he chews through collars and gets out of the yard (which is because he's a puppy and not an outside breed). She mentioned possibly getting rid of him. Lo and behold he wandered back into our yard not too long after that... interesting. I wanted to adopt him because he was unwanted, but shouldn't have been. He was a very sweet dog. I would have called him Jackie I think :) This brings me to a rant. I know I've posted about the way people around here treat their pets. This is a perfect example. This lady didn't want the puppy anymore so she simply let it go. No collar, no tags...

Project 365: Jan 16 - 20

Tuesday, January 16th - more snow and a cotton candy sunset. It wasn't much, but the ice beneath and timing of the snow itself  meant a snow day for the kids! Now that they're teenagers, that precious time is spent catching up on sleep, which makes working from home pretty easy for me. Wednesday, January 17th - the morning light changes throughout the year as the earth moves around the sun. In winter, it peeks in through my living room window and spotlights the entertainment center in warm light.  Thursday, January 18th - Braved the inch of ice on the ground to attend a legislative reception in Annapolis with my coworkers/friends.
