We spent almost all day just laying around. Tristan keeps going on these feeding binges where he wants to eat every 15 minutes or so for about 2 or 3 hours. I guess it's a growth spurt! Good news is he has slept at least one 5 hour stretch at night all week, usually from 9-2am. Tonight it will be 10-3am I'm hoping. I put Tristan in overalls today and he was just the cutest thing EVER! He actually liked them. Noah hated overalls, but Tris made all kinds of funny happy faces after I put them on him. The last one is of Noah and he's 9wks old in that shot! Tristan is so much bigger than him.

We got yet another package today! :D My cousin Sandy made Tristan a plush blanket. We all love it... it's so cool I had to take some pictures of it. I think it's so creative how she used the leaf print to make a big leaf right in the middle. We also got a package yesterday from my friend Miriam with some exceptionally cute clothes from the Children's Place, including an outfit for Noah. He stripped right there in the living room to try his new clothes on. They're big on him, but that's how we like them to be. I need to go get him a new winter wardrobe soon. Grandpa and Grandma B. also sent a package for Halloween with shirts for the boys, crib sheets, and more books for Noah. I'll have pics of them in their Halloween shirts soon. One of the books is about a T-Rex going trick or treating with his dino friends, how great is that?! :) Thanks so much to everyone!

After Noah took a nap we went hiking at Friedrich Wilderness Park again. Tris had just finished a 3 hour binge eat-a-thon and was exhausted. We went on the level three trail again, climbing stairs and rocks and whatever else with Tristan in the baby carrier. He was pretty fussy and sucked on my pinky most of the hike. I think he just wanted to sleep. Noah ran the entire time and kept saying "come on, Mommy! come on!". I brought my camera but ended up leaving it in the car because I was pretty sure I wasn't going to be able to take too many shots. I was there to work off my baby butt anyway. This guy walked past us and said "now there's a hiker!" and he's stinkin' right. I love hiking and if I have to front-load a baby and chase a 3yr old to do it, then by golly that's what I'm going to do. It's starting to cool off in the evenings and I need exercise! I get too stir crazy in this house, and walking around the block is just not far enough away for me.

You can tell Tristan's personality is forming!I really like that 1st picture of the boys!
These are adorable pictures. I don't know that I would be able to walk with a carrier and chase a three year old so go for it! I can see the size difference in the boys.

That blanekt is beautiful! Do you know how she made it? You go girl! that is great you get to exercise with both boys. I bet your really close to pre pregnancy weight chasing around Noah and Tristan eating all the time. You'll be 100 lbs before you know it!

Hurricane Sandy

This will be a gleefully uneventful post, but I thought I should at least inform everyone of our whereabouts during Frankenstorm. On Friday the landfall predictions were further south, which had the eye passing near our tiny town after obliterating Dover, DE.  We happen to be surrounded by water.  The Patuxent River on one side, Chesapeake Bay on the other, plenty of swamps and creeks in between.  Not a good prospect. Josh and I had gone out that night to try and secure supplies and already, there were no batteries or flashlights.  We also don't have a grill and thought "we'll try Lowe's tomorrow"I mean, most people already own grills... right?  Everything in our house is run on electricity (including the water pump for the well) except for the fireplace.  I don't know what builders are thinking when they do that.  I at least want a gas stove and water heater!  So, anyways.  We got a few hours of sleep before trying to brave the crowds...

Hiking on the Guadarrama Trail

As promised yesterday, I actually left the house and went on a hike with Mama C and Goober!  YAY! I was a bad Mommy and ill prepared to shield us from the hot Spanish sun so we all have a touch of sunburn.  Whoops.  It was fun though.  OK so here's where we began our journey.  You can see the bridge between the roundabout and the little house with a red roof (which is a restaurant).  All the cylindrical buildings were a plant nursery.  We walked over the bridge and past the nursery where we crossed the street and then started up the dirt path.  The other little building is literally a Gypsy Keep. Here's what it looked like from the road... and it was so ridiculously creepy, yet fascinating.  I don't know why there is always tons of junk in trees around gypsy places.  There was a gutted van in the backyard, a stroller jammed into a wall, shorts in the trees.  We both wanted to trespass, but the kids would have inevitably fal...

Germany

Noah and I are having a great time out in Germany with Josh. The house we're sharing is amazing and the people are also amazing. The only thing we don't have is our own kitchen, but like I said, the people who live here (Josh's friends) are amazing so it's not even an issue. I've been cooking for everyone to try to thank them in some way. We haven't been to many places yet. It's hard to go anywhere with a baby who has a naptime and a husband who has a job. However!! We managed to make it out to Heidelberg to see the castle. It was awesome. the walk up to the castle mmmm castle Heidelberg down below Christmas is huge here. They've even got Christmas markets out in the parking lot in front of WalMart. We've been to Luisenplatz a few times in downtown Darmstadt to visit all the Christmas shops they have set up. It's like a Christmas flea market. Thus far all I've blown money on is candy... mmmm German candy is so delicious. It's...
