We're Home

We were released early yesterday and are resting at home now. I will make some time to share Tristan's birth story with everyone sometime soon. Here's a short summary. It was fast and furious and I swore I'd never do it again. Not too long after that, I reconsidered. I've got plenty of time to think about it! I feel fine. I was up and walking less than an hour after giving birth. Tristan is really alert and wants to eat every hour (about 15mins on one side only). He will stay awake for an hour or so at a time and just follow everyones' voices with his eyes. He's insanely strong already too. Thanks Dad B. for the flowers!! Thanks Brit for the pictures! :D We also got Paige's announcement yesterday. Very sweet :)

I'll post again soon. A nurse is coming out to the house tomorrow to check up on Tris and I. Josh's flight takes off at 8:34am. I'm sure I'll have more to say later. I'm going to cuddle with my babies before we're all split up again.

I just can't believe Tristan is here!He is so sweet.I want to hold him!
How is Noah doing?Does he understand what is going on?He must just love love love his new baby brother :)

I love Tristan's little hat by the way,and I love his name.

I am so glad you are home. He is just adorable! Dylan lived in these when he was newborn. They are so easy for changing them. Soak up your family while you can. Can't wait to hear more. Rest up!

Yeah! I'm glad you are home and doing good. I'm glad that nursing is going well for you to. I can't wait to hear the birth story. I bet it feels so good to be holding Tristan. How did you feel when they said it was a boy? Were you shocked or not surprised? I bet Josh was happy again haha. I'm glad he was there for the birth. At least he got to spend a little time with the new baby. Does he go back to Germany now? Do you know what is going on with him coming back to the states yet?

Congratulations again! Enjoy your time together. Get some rest if you can and spend as much time as you can. I'm thinking of you guys!

Congrats guys! I'm so happy that you are all ok and healthy! Im sad that Josh is leaving so soon. I'm so glad that you got the announcement! I was worried that it might have gotten lost. What does noah think? Congrats again!

I am so happy Josh was there. But it breaks my heart that you will be split up again. even if it is for a short time. I cant wait until you get to be a whole family again.

Still Happy!! HOORAY!!

We're still going strong with our happiness levels out here. Yesterday was a little bit rough because Tristan was especially whiney, but today was amazing :) We got our grocery shopping done and even managed to have fun doing that! Noah and I were singing Christmas songs already while Tris and Bren laughed at us. Tristan sometimes piped in with a "all the way" when we were singing Jingle Bells. Noah was cracking up when I sang him the Batman version :D After all that excitement the 2 wee ones went down for their naps and Noah and I gave Bosley a bath with his new tea extract shampoo. Almost Doesn't Count

We almost ended up with a puppy today. An adorable baby Jack Russell Terrier mix wandered into our yard. He was very sweet, laid back, flea-ridden, dirty, cute, a little broken, good temperament, un-fixed, and very very good with Noah and Emma. I asked the neighbors about him and they showed me where the owner lived. She took him inside and told me how he's driving her crazy because he chews through collars and gets out of the yard (which is because he's a puppy and not an outside breed). She mentioned possibly getting rid of him. Lo and behold he wandered back into our yard not too long after that... interesting. I wanted to adopt him because he was unwanted, but shouldn't have been. He was a very sweet dog. I would have called him Jackie I think :) This brings me to a rant. I know I've posted about the way people around here treat their pets. This is a perfect example. This lady didn't want the puppy anymore so she simply let it go. No collar, no tags...

Project 365: Jan 16 - 20

Tuesday, January 16th - more snow and a cotton candy sunset. It wasn't much, but the ice beneath and timing of the snow itself  meant a snow day for the kids! Now that they're teenagers, that precious time is spent catching up on sleep, which makes working from home pretty easy for me. Wednesday, January 17th - the morning light changes throughout the year as the earth moves around the sun. In winter, it peeks in through my living room window and spotlights the entertainment center in warm light.  Thursday, January 18th - Braved the inch of ice on the ground to attend a legislative reception in Annapolis with my coworkers/friends. We spent the day networking, laughing, and planning to save our little section of the Chesapeake Bay watershed here in Southern Maryland. Friday, January 19th - Jug Bay snow day!!!
